Gotta be honest, young Gunbuny coming to and coming back from Desert Shield/Storm with XVIII Airborne Corp, I had to stand in more welcome home parades/formations than I wanted to. Every damn one had Lee Greenwood singing. Went to the Kosovo, same thing! Got deployed to Haiti during the Papa Doc coup, Lee was there singing on the parade field when we got back to Ft. Polk. Went back to Kosovo, that damn Lee was still here when I got back. I didn't go to the retirement parade just because I knew that damn song would be played.
Then 9/11 happened, everyone was singing a song then, and Lee was still singing.
Now I associate that song and the others with nothing positive, so you'll forgive me if the song I share isn't patriotic, or even by Americans.
