Victor Exh man gaskets W/ shields ?

I think I need to put on a set of exhaust manifold gaskets. I found victor stamped steel MS15136 that have a heat shield that goes around the plug boots. Would that be a good thing, or jus get in the way changing plugs ?

I believe the shields were on the small blocks from the factory! I know my first 1969 340 car had them. It did make it just slightly harder to put plugs in.
