vinyl top trim question

I want to put a vinyl top on my 73 scamp, the car either did not come with a vinyl top or the holes were filled in long ago. I bought the vinyl top moldings, but I'm not sure how their placed. are there any points I can take measurements from ?

It's your car so have it your way. Just realize people go to great lengths to take them off and repaint.

If in doubt you could just paint it line a "white top special" couldn't you?

I know years ago there was a paint when you put it on it made it look like a vinyl top

It worked ok to use Satin black enamel and roll it till it thickens up and starts to clump.
Wanted the look but not the headaches.
It's a Dart so I don't know if the vinyl lines are the same.

That is water on the top BTW.
