Water Pump Bolts

On a 318/360 engine are the bottom 2 bolts of the water pump wet if you remove them? I need to install old style timing tab that uses these 2 bolts to mount plate?

No, they are not wet, but i would put a little silicon on the threads when you put them back in so oil doesn't seep out. I did the same thing you are doing just last weekend.

Silicone works, but I like to use a couple of wraps of teflon tape. Just a few wraps, that way you dont get silicone all over your hands and steering wheel.

I use silicone in those bolts to keep the oil in. I like the teflon tape idea though might try that next time.
