water temp gauge

my water temp gauge isnt working at all..... all it has is connections for the light. its a mechanical one and its not getting a reading please help

if the line that goes from the sender to the gauge brakes, but i put it back together with soder will it work still or no because its broken and it wont work????

To the best of my knowledge, once the tube has been badly kinked or broken the gauge is no good.

it has a nut that screws into the block on the line and when i put it through the fire wall it bent a little to much and broke but its ok i just replace it
