Is there someone special I need to see or go to have my cage welded in? I want it to be NHRA legal so when I go to the track they don't say I can't run. What did you guys with cages do? Thanks!

I welded my own 8 point cage in,no grinding on welds(I was a welder 25 yrs ago).Maybe try to find a local welder with plenty of experience to fix you up.Inspection(NHRA) is really for cars faster than 10sec. which you,ll then need a Halo bar and underdash bar also.Good Luck!

As mentioned, do NOT grind any welds. Find someone who can weld...period. Check out their work before you let them start. Ive seen WAYYYY too many people get screwed over with cage/chassis work. Its rediculous.

Also pretty sure NHRA requires MIG welding on mild steel and TIG on chrome moly. I'd research the rule book before you start just to be sure. Dan

Use chrome moly and have it tig welded. . To do a full cage correct and keep it up agaist the roof without harming the liner. Tack it in place , Drop it through the floor and weld The hoop and halo . Then pick it back up and put on your plates . Get a NHRA rule book for specifics.
