Glass can do weird things. A month ago, my wife and I drove my 2004 2500 quad cab to the beach for the weekend. On the way home, coming up the interstate....I heard a rock or something hit the front windshield. When I got home, I washed the truck and put it in the garage. Windshield was fine, because I had treated it with RainX. Two weeks later, I walked by it in the garage, and there was a crack running up the windshield. I got to looking, and that rock I had heard on the way home apparently hit right under the drivers side wiper, because there was a tiny peck mark there....and the crack went up the windshield from there. Very sorry the OP went thru all that work as careful as he could be.....and now gets to do it all again!
