Built a buddy's rear axle for him to go in his Dart and it's almost done.
Just need to add a couple of line brackets but now I don't want to let go of it.

Going in a 74 Dart 440/727
2.91 Sure Grip 741 case.
Dr. Diff heavy duty axle shafts in 4.5 bolt pattern and long studs.
13 inch disc with powder coated calipers.
Painted with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator.
Braided stainless clear plastic coated flex lines.
All new bearings and seals
New perches with 3 degrees down on the angle.
Nice gear pattern.

It will be a daily driver.
Maybe I can get him to will it to me.

Hi Trailbeast was the 3 degrees down a measurement you got off another axle or the one for the Dart? In other words how did you come up with a 3 degree down figure. thanks

Who's rear disc set up did you end up using? Looks like a set with the Eldorado calipers?

3 down is the accepted normal for a daily driver, with more down being for more aggressive driving.
Lets say the owner will normally drive the car pretty easy.
But when he gets into it more the rear might see 2-3 degrees up under that load.
It will still be ok at that angle.

I don't remember, but it's printed on the shipping label.
You are correct that it is a GM caliper.

I set my 8.75 perches at 5° down.

I probably would go for 5 on your car, because it's getting built to run.:D

If I can ever get to it to finish it. You know, that whole pesky life thing kinda gets in the way.
