Hobby Land. 20 years ago, I'd not thought of this for anything else but maybe hunting land. Never thought it could be such a blast. We are having a wonderful time, even when we aren't there, just discussing the options. This will be our "off grid mostly" landing spot as time permits. Like cars, you don't have to know much to dig in and enjoy, learn as you go. Ours is a ways from our house, which allows us to "get out" while still landing at "our place".
Oh, this is our other channel "Jilted America" for non-car related things that we wish to share - but mostly use as documenting for ourselves... lol

Those that started earlier than us, well, you discovered this treasure of joy before we did

Thanks for sharing! It does look like a great place to get away. What do you do for the bugs? Bear poop? Well, our "natural land" gives us the fresh scent of racoon poop and the fresh oh-der of skunk every now and then. And the "natural land" is getting to be more and more of the backyard I don't cut. Got some great wild flowers growing by themselves. My wife tried planting them out front and nothing happened. Here, it just grew by itself. I may try growing burdock and see what happens. It is supposed to be the best food you've never eaten. Do you sleep in the bed of the truck, a tent or pull behind trailer?

Spring is where most the bugs bother. Late summer/fall there's no bother. Yeah, a bear must have went to our berry bushes/trees or apple trees. As for sleeping, we been getting hotel to this point, although we have both vans with full size beds in them. We will very soon be sleeping at the property though as we plan to install a maintenance shed with windows. I guess I don't know what burdock is, but my wife may know

just don't leave a pick-a-nick basket in the shed or Yogi might stop by for a visit. :)
LOL... we leave nothing for the animals each time we go. All trash, etc goes with us. We got turkey, deer, skunk, and now bear. Just so no moose, elk, or mt lions show up .... be no room for us :D :D

Not leaving trash also comes under the heading of being responsible. IF you lived there, then you might burn or bury some of it. My friend's place in Wisconsin has a area dump where trash goes. Every so often, the city stops by and moves it around or buries it. Also good for free shopping. I found a good length of chain the time I visited there.
