I need to replace my top, I have the new one and (I think) all the parts. What’s the best guide to top installation?

I’ve studied the FSM but it has details without much context. I’m trying to figure out the general overall sequence - like maybe attach the center to windshield frame, then rear bow, then zip the window and attach the window lower, but what about the side curtains, the well liner, the boot - all the sources seem to assume I already know how this sandwich goes together.

Is there a book or video? So far the ones I’ve seen seem to be for non mopars with different style tops.

I could just jump in but if possible I’d like to avoid having to undo my work because some other part is supposed to go on first.

All help much appreciated!

I did mine with help from and interior shop. Many tricks that differ as you install the top. One thing is the top is not all the way down to allow for stretch. Old timers are the best at this. The best advice I can give is find someone with experience, Once you screw it up there is no turning back.

I used the 65 FSM to replace the top on a 65 Coronet I once had. It actually turned out very nice with no wrinkkes

  1. Basically the bows are adjusted per the FSM
  2. the two side strips that go from the header bow to the rear most bow.
  3. Then the rear curtain
  4. Then the top.
There is A LOT more than that and I second get help from someone who has done it before.

In 67 the rear curtain attaches to a tack strip that is screwed to the body, you can not adjust the curtain with the tach strip attached to the body and you have VERY limited numbers of attempts till you have cut too much of the curtain off or poked holes in it from staples.

When You do your top, do not forget to put these in place....

Dang it I must have not put them in but being they are invisible, I guess it's ok.

Poor attempt at humor...

No images came through

Fixed it. Just as I was making the post, the wife called me for supper.. I forgot to paste the link.
Mine does have those! They are not invisible anymore

And infact you can see them poking through the top, which I never liked
