First one looks like a 1968 B body 4 speed ....very good.

Second one is an A- 745 3 speed, long tail shaft for B body or bigger car .......Light duty

The 3 speed came out of a 69 ply satellite post car which was sold. They did not want motor or trans.

I would bet it was a slant six ...maybe 318

The 745 is a column shift only. It does not have provisions to mount the shifter on the floor which makes them very undesirable. After 70 they came up with the A-230 which was not only tougher but it had the place on the tail shaft that allowed for a floor shifter to be mounted.

The 745 is bolted to a 318. Anybody ever buy these 745's ? What do they normally go for if they are up for sale?
