what can I use for a seal? (pic)

when I pulled my gas filler tube out so I can replace my tank, the little seal thingie just fell to pieces. What can I use to replace it to keep water out of my trunk?

I figured that I may as well clean it up and paint it whilst it was out.

You can use lamb in the place of seal, but it don't taste as good.

yeah, scored a pair on E-Pray for 49.99 + 18.00 shipping. Blasted and painted them today. Gonna be on the prowl for another pair in the near future, I bought a 71 Scamp Saturday (/6 - 904), good candidate to be a track car, hit on the drivers side and no options, manual everything no air.
