i know this may sound like a dumb question but i gotta ask.
i have a 3/8 line comming out of my fuel sending unit, and my fuel pump has a 3/8 npt inlet/ outlet can i run a 3/8 fuel line throughout ? im running a 850 thermoquad.

Sure you can. The fitting on the Thermoquad is probably made for a 5/16 line but you can buy AN flare adapters for that and either run a braided line or a flared AN line direct up to that.

3/8 npt is not the same as 3/8 tube.
But yeah it could be made to work.
Question is, why? Are you gonna drag it? or do you have a BB?
Lotsa guys are running over 400hp on 5/16 lines. And the TQ has a huge float bowl. A streeter wouldn't need it, cuz you're never standing on it for more than a couple/several seconds. Maybe 6 seconds tops.

It's a lotta work to bend up a 3/8 line, make it fit and no kinks. Just one kink can render the 3/8 line less useful than a well bent factory 5/16 line.
It's easy to check your current system output and figure out how much horsepower it will support.

Look at that fuel pump again. I bet it is 1/4" NPT.

That said, yup, 3/8 will handle pretty much anything you throw at it.
