I think the side cover is the interlock style.

According to the brewers site it looks like you have the '70 and up 2.47 ratio low gear.

Drat, That ratio is going to stink with 3.23 gears and 28" tires. Is it a more or less desirable gear ratio?

I believe most people want the 2.66 gear ratio. I am not sure how much a difference there really is on take off. I guess if you were racing it would be better but for a street car I doubt it would really matter. Maybe someone who has tried both will chime in.
