What is this attached to my fender tag?

There is a long 1 inch wide tag with holes in it attached to my fender tag of my Valiant what is it and why is it there?

Here is the best I could get. There are words stamped into the back of it, paint, final, something I can't read, code, deck, hood, door twice, and frame. There is also a different shape hole punched by each one. 4 tear drops a star, and 2 other strange shapes I can't describe.

Inspection tags...at each part of the build process, the QA inspector was suppossed to punch their portion of the tag with their section's punch.
At the end of the line in final inspection, the person was supposed to clip it off. The key word here is supposed.
As you might notice, each punch is differernt.

I dont plan on cutting it off whoever I sell this one too when I get the parts I want can do what they want with it I just thought it was interesting, so I thought I would ask thanks guys like always you came through with great info.
