I am getting ready to install my vinyl top on the Dart. I am wondering about the spray type of adhesive.
Any input would be a help.

Thanks....................Ted

This product will work very well for your application.

For a vinyl top, this is what you want. They sell spray cans, but I'd just buy a gallon and spray it with a cheap harbor freight gun with a drilled out tip. You could always roll it too if you wanted.

That's what my friend uses at his shop. And what i used. 3-M cost more but is also good to go. Most use Weldwood as more priced friendly. Never a problem with either one

If it comes out of a spray bomb.....it ain't good enough for a vinyl top. I let someone put a vinyl top on for me, and they used that stuff. First time I rolled the car out in the sun, the top wrinkled up worse than Aunt Gertie's face! The stuff in post #4 is what you want to use. An el cheapo primer gun works best.

Go with the Weldwood Landau Top and Trim adhesive. It’s what the upholstery shops use.

This is good stuff too, but I believe they only sell it to business accounts:

Keyston Brand Contact Adhesive

I filled a 64oz jar from a local upholstery shop for very cheap. It's all he uses for headliners, door panels, and vinyl tops. He's convinced it's the same stuff as the Weldwood Landau adhesive, but is a bit cheaper.

i used an old pro spray gun, redrilled the jet to .080. spray both sides, let dry and stick together. First heat up your shop, lay the vinyl over night on the car (wrinkle). Center it on the roof and glue it two inch wide at the center line. fold it over and apply the glue for one side. two other people stretch it over the roof and you wipe it down with a swimming move from the middle. Make a dry saison for the team. When the glue sticks, it sticks forever!

Well I am convinced to use the Weldwood Adhesive, and I have a Harbor Freight gun for the job. But here is my only question. Do I leave the thing in the center of the hole that was just drilled out to .080. Or is it still left inside.
Thanks......................Ted
