Hey all, 69 Dart Swinger 340 here. Does anyone recognize what this wire may be for?

Most likely turn signal.
Go to mymopar.com and get your cars wiring diagram and look for the color in the front wiring diagram

It looks like turn signal wire/running light! just because the extra insulation. JMO!

I'm going to say definitely hood mounted turn signal like on my 69 Barracuda.

Since the Swinger was considered a "stripper" model, it probably didn't have fender mounted turn signals, although the plug could still be present in the harness- so it could be that too since it used the same type plug as the side marker.

That is a provision for the M77 option, electric machine gun. It is a somewhat rare option.

No. 69 is on the grille and I'm not seeing it on the wiring diagram because those turn signals are wired.

Nope. Doesn't show it on the original window sticker either, but maybe the harness is still there?

The car never had them, but if wire was included on all wiring harnesses than I guess it's possible.

The 69 wouldnt have had side marker lights on any trim packages far as I know. 69 came with reflectors. This is the best explanation though and that does look like fabric insulation on that wire.

This makes the most sense especially since it was marketed towards teenagers. Do they make any repop ones?

Yes all had the wiring there for fender mount turn signals
Connectors for hood indicators would be back at the firewall not at the radiator support.

You could try using a test light and turn on a few things to find out.
That connector looks like the one on my '72 for the fender mounted turn signals. It breaks out of the forward light harness in the area of the side marker light.

Unless it is for something like the fender lights, which I don't have. Not a big deal. Everything seems to be working on mine. Just curious as it is not connected to anything.
Black with Lt Green tracer on the drivers side and Black with Tan tracer Pass side
If you follow it back it should T off the Park and Turn connector as shown.

I do have the printed and Pdf service manual.NOW GO GET THE FSM!
Been using it as a guide for the full front suspension rebuild.
Regarding the wire. Im pretty sure it is for the top of fender turn signals. The original paperwork says the car had them. It no longer has them. I'll have to check with my multimeter if they work, but I'm certain at this point that's what they're for. Now for the decision on if to add them again. I like the idea of them, but don't really love how they look.
