What rear end do I have?

I have a '73 Duster, 318 auto (on the column). What rear end should it have?

7 1/4 or 8 1/4

Could be either rear.

Can I still do decent burnouts with either one? And will it only be a 1 wheel burnout? haha

Does it still have the fender tag? If so look for the following codes.

D81 = 7 1/4 D82 = 8 1/4 D83 = 8 3/4

If it is a 7 1/4 you will be able to do ONE burnout unless it is a true tracking posi grip then it will last for a while longer.

I have the fender tag in my hand and there are none of those codes on it....

Rear axle codes aren't generally on the tag unless it's part of an "A" code accessory package on 69 up cars
