I have got a frshly rebuilt 69 340. It is 9.5/1 compression, stock dome style pistons, ported j heads, extreme energy 260 cam, eddy rpm intake, and i plan on running a holley street avenger 670 cfm stall. I have got a rebuilt 904 with a stock stall converter. I was thinking around a 2400 rpm stall? I plan on eventually putting a larger cam in the future and 3.91 gears.

The Stock 904 converter may already tall where you want it for that engine. Generally speaking, the stall speed should be at or just a bit above where the cam starts to make usable power. The cam card would show this RPM.
