Have a spare set of bumpers that I was wondering how to go about painting them. How do you prep the chrome to take paint properly??

slanty six,
I suggest you have them sandblasted, take out any dents, etc. , apply a good quality 2K high build urethane flex primer, scuff with 600 wet paper, and then shoot a durable 2K base/clear paint sytem on them.
FYI - Rattle can paint won't take the road abrasion (stone chips) so don't waste your time.

it also helps to use a adhesion promotor,or a metal etch primer so the paint sticks
