..'71 Datsun 510 2 door with wooden bumpers.. cost me 300 bucks..learned to drive like rally drivers on dirt roads..then moved to a '71 MG-bgt. Sold the 'bgt in '09.

1968 SS 396 Chevelle, auto and non posi. Man it would smoke the tire!!! Before graduating high school in 1974, I sold the Chevelle and got a 69 Swinger 340, 4 speed. Owned the Swinger two different times till the road salt took it's toll on it.

It is. bought the bronco when i was 15 and still got her me and my dad did a little bit of work to her then when i was 19 i bought the demon and me and my dad restored her and still driving her at least once a week and im only 22 now. Have been blessed to own both

My first car was a 62 Valiant sedan, customised, 225 /6, 350 Holley, Genie Headers, 2 & 1/2" exhaust, little cam, big compression, P&P cyl head, E49 spec close ratio 4sp and 3.23 gears, and then later 3.45's, front disc brakes......would 120 mph no worries at all.
I still have it.....not in the same shape though.....making it into a Nostalgia Drag Car now.
It will still have the 225 & 4sp, but with 3 x 45mm DHLA Delorto's, Pacemaker Headers, big cam, big compression, big valves, 4.11 LSD, 4 point cage, fibreglass bonnet & boot lid, subframe connectors.......etc.

No pics and not a car, but my first was a 1960 Ford F100. Drove the wheels off that thing, wish a I had it back.

I think this was my first.

1958Ford Fairlane 500 4 door hardtop. Black with
white top and black interior.

Power was a 352 c.i. Thunderbird Police Interceptor
It had 300 h.p. and was the solid lifter engine.

It started out as an automatic but we switched it
over to a 3 speed on the column with overdrive.

This thing would run 95 in second gear.

Also had the '56 Chevy next I believe.

No before but a couple of after.

My first car, was a parents handme down. They bought a 1964 Dodge Custom 880 brand new and let me drive it when I started driving.

Turquoise, with a turquoise tuck and roll snow flake interior, 383 pushbutton 727, 4 dr. I always thought the dash was so cool on those cars.

I had my first date in that car, my first wreck in that car, my first ticket (littering), I was scared of it when I first started driving, cause it had "too much power" lol 305 hp 383.

you couldn't kill that motor, I was thinking about rebuilding the motor, so I tried to get it to throw a rod by draining the oil out and running the motor. It had 160000+ so it was pretty loose, I ran the motor off and on without oil and it didn't die, so I put oil back in it and drove it for another 3 yrs.

Cool story here, my parents still owned in in the late 80s, and I was moving to Ca. My dad says lets go sell the car, ok where to? Lets go to the Junk yard, WTF???

so long story short, guy offers $100 for it, guy behind us says he will buy it for $100. fast forward to 1994, I am back from Ca. and at a gas station working, look up after hearing the ding, its the car, the guy had completely restored it.

His name was Jeff Curtiss, turns out in 2009 when I bought the Super Bee and joined Mopars unlimited he was a Member, and he had just sold the car a few months before.

Those were such unique cars, Golden Anniversary car for Dodge, 1 yr body style, so hard to find parts back then for it. I have only seen a few others even though they made 12000 of them that year.

There was a tan 4 dr running around town when I was growing up and I saw a 2 dr in a garage in Kent Wa once. Been going to car shows a long time and have only seen 1, a red 4 dr at the Greenwood car show in Seattle a few yrs ago.

I was 16 in the summer of 1985. I was working with an older friend doing tree work for the summer. Every morning we would pass a gas station with a 70 Charger 500 ( 383 auto A/C P/S P/B Console Orig plum crazy but painted black white inter.) At the end of summer the Charger was still there. We stopped and was told he was selling it for a customer that lived up the street. I got the number and called. The guy had bought it to fix up and drive but lost interest. He wanted $1000.00. More money then I had at the time. I told him he he was interested I could give him $300 down and pay $50-$100 a week til it was paid for. I think he saw the love I had for the Charger and agreed. For months I rode my bicycle to the next town to drop off a payment and drool over hopefully MY Charger. I got good exercise doing that. A couple of weeks before Christmas he said he was going away and wanted the Charger gone when he got back. He said he wasn't worried about the last of the money he knew I was good for it. He joked that anyone who ride every week to drop off a payment could be trusted for the rest. So I had my mother to bring me over to get the Charger. With only my permit ( no license yet) and an expired plate that I found in my basement I was off. Bald tires, exhaust leak and half of the lights not working didn't bother me. Down the street it stalled and I barely got it running again. Once running the big pedal went to the floor and the 383 howled like a bear. When I got home my mother asked me how she was to follow me when i drove that fast. LOL Christmas morning came and I had the best present a 16 year old could want. A big block Mopar in the driveway. God I miss that car and if I had the money I would like to see if it survived. This is my first car story and I'm sticking to it. I had a bunch of good experiences with that car. I could keep the stories going but maybe that will be another thread!View attachment img003 (800x611).jpg

My Dad bought me a 1962 Studebaker Lark Daytona convertible (similar to this one) for $50. Never got it running though, 'cuz I didn't have a dime to my name, and there was a con rod sticking out the side of its block. I LOVE Studebakers!!

My grandpa's 61 Galaxy 500. It was so rotted that you could see the frame rails in the trunk. No attachment points. Thought I was cool driving my girlfriend home from school past all the Schlubs walking. I drove over a dip in the road and my gas tank dropped to the road...not feeling so cool with everyone pointing! 1976
