Hi - I have a 1964 Barracuda that was made in May of 64, and I was wondering how you tell if that is a early production or not. I know the barracuda beat the mustang (april 15th 1964) to launch - so would it need to be an april production date to be 'early'

mine has the push button (of course) the Valiant badging and the long tail barracuda scripting

I think they started Barracuda production in mid-March. It takes a while to ramp up production, get the initial batch built and then distribute them to all the dealers.

There's no formal demarcation between "early" and "not early" and "late". It's pretty vague and general; a fairly good rule of thumb is that "early" is the first two or three months' production of any given year-make-model and "late" is the last two or three months' production.
