What's the step-by-step to setting upa 4spd?

I (we) could use some help setting up the shifter and trans. When I look at the pic I see the 1-2 ,3-4 trans levers facing the shifter and the reverse facing the fan. The shifter is the set in neutral, using a nail, that then determines the linkage lengths...correct? Thanks

yes, center all the tabs, with the exception of the reverse tab cause it go's foward .

then stick a nail/small screw driver through the alignment hole at the base of the shifter and begin adjusting all the rods to meet.
