Whats this axle worth?

2001 Ram 2500 dana 60. Disc brakes and sway bar. 103k on it. Truck was owned by the city and the maintenance was kept up. I bought the truck for the engine and trans but have no use for the axle. What should I ask for this thing? Thanks guys.

In my area a junkyard would ask about $150 with exchange BUT they are in it more for scrap metal and not selling parts. Thats just a bonus for the guy because he pockets whatever the parts sell for. There is a guy who deals only in dodge truck parts and as a whole and for that axle i think he wants around $700 so id say you could get between those numbers. It just depends on what the demand and availability is for it in your area. Id craigslist it for around $500 and take whatever was offered plus exchange because they would bring a few bucks as scrap

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to try and sell whats left of the truck for around $500 including the axle. Wonder what the scrapper would give me for the truck the way it sits? Hmmmmm

If it's a D60, not a 61 or some other variant, only thing for us it's good for is center/axle tubes and maybe gearset/sure grip.

I don't pay more than $100 for that stuff from the local yard here, no exchange.

If you find someone that wants it whole, maybe 300-500.
