for a 72 swinger, they are listing coupe,(from Valiant.org.), at 108 and the hard top at 111. My question is, besides the wheel base, what is the diff. between a coupe and a hard top?

I think the "coupe" they're talking about is the Demon, which is based on the Valiant chassis rather than the Dart.

There is no coupe (2 door sedan) in '72 only 2 door hard top and sedan. I may be mistaken but I think the Mopar chassis book list's the hard top at 108" wheel base. The sedan has a different windshield and rear window.

I just checked my copy of the Standard Catalog, and the Demon WB is 108 (same as the Valiant/Duster), and the Dart (hardtops and sedans) is 111- as is the Scamp.

I was going by this chart.

111"

Scamps, being Valiant by VIN are the outsider of the Valiant group at 111" also.

Right, and the first "column" of figures refers to the (Dart) Demon coupe, which is basically a Plymouth Duster with rhinoplasty. The "real" Dart, whether a 2-door hardtop or 4-door sedan, share a chassis.

The easy way to figure what's what.

Scamp = Plymouth Swinger

Demon = Dodge Duster
