wheel bearing failure

Driving home Wed night from work and the right front wheel suddenly started making a terrible noise.
Pulled over and the wheel was spewing white smoke, very hot. Let it cool off and limped home (4 miles) at an idle and heard thumping and metal screeching.ops:
Haven't taken it apart yet due to rain, but I hope all I need is bearings, races and seals to fix it. I have a friend who has a spindle etc if I need one but, I hope not.

Better figure in a hub, rotor, or drum. If it got that hot, chances are it ruined the area where the races and seal go. Just my .02

Might add shoes and wheel cylinders to the shopping list, just in case.

Just repacked my bearings today and I see a complete Bering and seal replacement very soon. Hope you don't have any bad damage
