Wheel seal position 74 Dart

Hey guys just want to confirm the correct installation position for the wheel seal on my 74 Dart factory disc brakes

The rubber lip is towards the spindle. Red metal is towards the rotor and bearings.

Your second pic shows the actual "lip" that seals the bearing. It goes toward the bearing. Pack the backside of the lip with grease prior to installing the rotor to the spindle.

I'm not even sure that design will go in backwards--hit the bearing cone? Not all seals have that design.

We always cut that outer lip off at the shops I worked at. I've never seen a factory seal with one.
