Wheel size for 72 Scamp?

What is the biggest wheels and tires I can put on my 72 Scamp with out tubbing? And what size for the front? Does anyone know what the original size wheels it came with, back spacing, etc.. Thanks for any help in advance.
 
first off welcome. there are a million threads on this subject. do some searching. chances are that this car came with 14x4.5 or 5 , small bolt pattern wheels. 5 on 4 " pattern. the backspace is 3.5 or close. i have some of these out in the garage but i havent actually measured the backspace. ive seen guys putting 15x7 wheels under there without any mods. i have a duster so i cant tell you exactly.
 
On the rear you can run upto a 245-70-R15 on a 15x7 Rim with a 4 1/4 inch backspace
On the front you can run upto a 225-60-R15 on a 15x7 rim with a 3 3/4 inch backspace
I will be running this combo soon on my 1974 Swinger
