Hello all,

How far does the disc brake conversion push the wheel out over 10" drum on a 74 Duster? I'm looking at getting a set of 61C(direct bolt) series Cragar SS using 205 60r15 T/A tires. The 15X6 wheels have a 3-1/4" backspace and the 15X7 have a 4" backspace. Summit recommended the 15X7 for future tire options. Do I need any special considerations for safety or room? Of the two which would you run?

The change to the 73+ disks pushes the wheels out about 3/8" per side.

The 15x7 would be the better choice of the two, the 15x6 has a negative offset, so the backspacing is limited. Even the 15x7 with 4" of backspace (0 offset) will limit your tire choices. I ran a 225/60/15 for awhile on 15x7's with a 4.25" backspace on my '74 Duster with disks, and those would not fit without rubbing on a 15x7 with a 4" backspace. I barely had any extra room, let alone a 1/4".

215/60/15 will be the widest you can go on a 15x7 with a 4" backspace.

Thanks, I'll be running a 205 60r15 for awhile since I already have them.

This has been my conundrum since I bought my car this month. As you can see, the front wheels are outside the wheel well, and I want to run steel wheels. Mine has LBP axles and wilwood discs, calipers. I lucked out and am able to use the steel wheels from my Roadrunner. we test fit and it clears the calipers and is tucked inside the wheel well. 15x6.5 oem mopar wheels 4.25bs...going with 215 65 15's (current tire is 15x7 on 215 70's) And for some reason (last picture) the tire size choices were a little funky...rears are shorter than the fronts 245 60 on 15x8.
