Our Redbone pups are about 4.5 months old. Been leaving them out at night, no disasters in the house the next morning. Did have to go look for one of there food bowls today, one of them hauled it outside last night while I was sleeping. Hate to lock them in the crates today when I go to town.....but don't want to come home to a disaster neither..

For the most part they are somewhat calm....they get a bit rough with each other quite a bit but nothing out of the ordinary for puppies. Right now one of them is passed out on her back, the other one is outside digging, looking for gophers. Hmmm.....

Teach them the crate early, and they do better. I did that with our newest German Shepard mix, and we have no issues leaving her out of the crate or even in the crate when we're gone. I have a yard full of small holes from dogs looking for gophers. Makes mowing a bumpy ride.

Left them out, nothing trashed when I got home....although they did drag some weeds inside. I don't have holes, I have a network of trenches. Red, the older Redbone, has been back there since 08 digging. There is one trench, last I checked, close to 70' long. He just gets on the scent and has at it...

Doug,
Gopher baby sitters? Yeah?

They sound better then one of my lazy *** cats that will PLAY wif a mouse and kill it, and then not do anything with it, but the other cat rip the mouse apart and eat it.....

Sounds like you could rent out the couple together as garden tillers......
