I'm talking about the piece that fastens the pipe to the exhaust manifold that has to bolt holes...
Does the muffler shop have these or do I need to buy the right ones?

what engine? what heads? what is the build... is it stock and you gonna run a small tube header or what?

Any good muffler shop will have flanges.

Yes....... they have flanges, but they are flat and generic, and
usually when they tighten them, they bend. I think you can buy the
OEM style flanges through one of the resto place's.

Like I said, a GOOD exhaust shop will have the right ones. The flat ones are generic chinkese bullshit.

I thought about making one for my slant out of 3/8 steel. I think I would need longer studs.

The accurate flanges are nice and thick. The generic parts store flanges tend to be thinner with bolt holes that are slotted.
