My family could give zero craps about my car collection/car stuff. If I was to pass on Wednesday, they'd have all my cars/parts bulldozed the dump on Thursday. So before I go, I'm going to will my estate to the kitty shelter. They are non-profit and really need the help to keep taking care of the endless supply of cats that humanity chooses not to care for. The houses and bank accounts will go to the wife. My immediate family is all millionaires anyway, so they wouldn't even want to bother with stuff that is worthless to them. I've even asked car manufacturing companies if they wanted my cars for their museums when I pass, and they also gave zero craps.

What is anyone else's plans for the future of their car hobby?

It's going with me, don't argue!
Edit, I have one car, no parts horde, I'll be lucky if I don't have to sell the car before it's finished

My entire estate goes to the local SPCA, because I have no kids and the rest of my family doesn't need or want any of my crap.

Edit: After everything is liquidated, all proceeds go to the SPCA.

It will be gone before then. I'm not going to burden my nieces with it.

Where it goes is only half the equation.
You will it to the kitty shelter, they'll call the scrapper and take their 1000

One of my cars is already promised and everybody knows that including that person.
I have a folder with all the documents and a list of contacts that I have asked to help if needed.

I have this vision of selling it overseas where rich Dubai oil men want American muscle...I don't think anyone here will want to pay etc. but I also remember when Mopars were cheap too

I try to not packrat or own a lot of stuff as i have had to clean up other peoples lives, everything i own will go to my niece... my car will probably be gone sooner than later.. i tend to get bored and sell when i don't feel it anymore.

Your kids don't care about the car hobby?

I don't have any kids, haha (the wife does). But kids these days just don't seem interested in anything that doesn't have a screen that they can attach to their face.
I have 4 "step" grandchildren. Two of the older ones had the screen attached to their faces. Lynax is 2 and Leonardo is 2.5. They have day care in our little town, so Karrin and I get them right after day care for 3 hours and every other weekend. Lynax already has a plastic set of wrenches and loves the convertible. Leo is a little bruiser. I nick named him "Bluto" LOL he will take anything apart I give him. I'm still working on getting him to put the stuff back together...but he is a natural.

That's true, and that's sad. You just don't see kids playing outside like we did when we were growing up. I don't remember the last time I Saw a kid riding a bike or a skate board.

The church is another good idea. I agree with Cuda Al, whether they go to the church or the kitty shelter, they'll most likely get trashed in the end...
Just my opinion on this, but I think that family should be first no matter if it's your kids, nieces, nephews, etc. I'm a church person too, but I don't think that family should eliminate family members. I know that most people will say that they don't need it, going by that most church's don't need it either. There were 2 very rich brothers not far from where I live and they left their money to the church for a boys home and the home never got the money.

Your not leaving anything to your kids? I don't know how it is where you live but here in Missouri a will can be contested.
As sad as it may sound sometimes kids don't deserve to be left anything...I'm like Tom999w and don't have any biological children. I have the 2 step grandchildren that might as well be my children. If it wasn't for them, I'd be right there with missing linc and there would be a German Shorthair pointer with some nice old Mopars.

I will gladly take them if you don't have anyone to leave them too. Working on a pretty cool saloon with attached classic car museum connected to it. Hopefully my youngest son will take it over when I'm gone. It always amazes me how this generation does not seem to be into cars. Why Uber when you can drive a muscle car? I just don't get it.

No kids here either, and none of our nieces and/or nephews give a hoot about anything automotive. The plan with the vehicles is to drive everything into the ground, and let the junk man pick ‘em up when they’re all used up. As for the tools, still looking for a school, or an enthusiastic youngster, to will them to. The house and the estate are to be sold off, and the proceeds split according to our will (some local non-profits, AHS, SPCA, etc).

I'm surprised that you are not leaving anything to your nieces or nephews. But I understand it especially if they don't have anything to do with you.
