I'm new to this forum and hobby. I'm in the process of resorting a 68 Dart GT that has a 273 engine. Machine work on the engine is done and is assembled to a short block. I have purchased a Edelbrock 4bll Performer intake manifold and will place a Edelbrock 1403 500cfm carb on top. I'd like to reuse the original stamped valve covers and air cleaner. I'm looking for an air cleaner bottom plate that will fit the carb (clearance of carb fittings, bumps and linkage) and the rest of the air cleaner. Is there anything in the aftermarket or will an original 4bll air cleaner work with the Edelbrock carb? Want to keep the oil fill/breather to-air-cleaner hose in place.

Well this might get you going for now.Till you find the right one. I use the 6'' Spectre base and filter. I can't remember if the stock is a 9 or 10''. The carb opening is 5 1/8'' the early AFB's were 4 7/8'' for the metal base.I had plans to use a Slant six base and graft the Spectre base to it. The slant and the 273 4 bbl uses the same filter.

Thank

Thank You! It's a start for sure. Looks like it might be something I can use to modify the bottom of the original 2bll air cleaner set up.
