66 slanted dart, I am installing the Super Six conversion, getting rid of old Holley 1920 and putting in Carter BBD. I got a rebuild kit for the Carter and it came with several versions of the Carb gasket that sits on the intake manifold. My new intake manifold has 2 round circles. My options for the gaskets include one that has 2 round circles (just like the manifold) or one that is 1 very long oval opening(this is also thicker)? Any idea which one I should be using?

I would use the one with two openings, especially if that matches the carb best too
but I don't think it would matter much

I am using the thick one with the single opening. No problems. I didn't have the 2 hole option, just different thicknesses with the long hole. I picked the thickest one because slants are notorious for boiling fuel.

I like the thick one...

(That's what she said....) :D

So going to rebuild the rebuild as the bowl gasket has failed. So I revisit the question as to which gasket should I use for manifold to carb. Reminder, the manifold has the 2 round holes, the carb also has the 2 round holes. The gaskets are 3, 2 are thin, 1 is pretty thick. 1 has the 2 hole cutout, the other 2 are the long single hole. I seem to recall a discussion about the reason you want to have the spacer in there to raise the Carb up? Maybe something about gas vapors? ideas?

A thick spacer may improve the flow velocity, and it definitely helps insulate the carb from the hot manifold. Whether your particular setup needs these features is an open question. FWIW I ran the thickest one.
