I'm trying to pick-up a little ET with my combo and I have a choice of the Hooker comp 1 3/4 or the Headman hustler 1 7/8. Which is best with my combo. I'm going to run 1/4 and 1/8th mile this year. I'm currently using the dynomax street header. Here's my combo:
.030 360 190kb's 10.8 comp
587 heads with port work 2.05 1.62's
roller rockers 1.5
holley strip intake
proform 750carb
Racerbrown st-21 520lift [email protected]
15/8 headers
4400 convertor CRT 727
4.86 gear 29.5x9.0 mt's
MSD elec system
38 total timing
in a 70 dart 3100lb race only 7.19 92.87mph 1.5260ft

Welcome aboard.

I'd say 1-3/4" would be enough pipe for that combo. If it was lighter, around 2800lbs the 1-7/8" woulbe work ok but I'd go with the smaller tubes.

I gotta agree the 1-3/4 should work good on your combo. Course I would be interested to see how the 1-7/8 compare to them. Ron

Hedman also offers a 1-3/4 to 1-7/8" step header under the Hussler line Part#75133
