Which motor for trouble free cruising including highway miles

RRR should by that 1968 340 that's listed for sale. It has been reduced in price.
I sure would like it, it's just not in my budget. Besides, I love slants too much now. I'm gettin ready to pull my early hemi out of my rat truck and put a slant in that.

I think they are about even. But the slant is cooler.
I agree with cooler. I remember one Mopar car show about 15 years ago when I met a young man with a 68ish 2 door Dart. It was pretty much all original with a /6, automatic, PS AM radio and not much else. He had it very well detailed. He was excited to be at the show. I talked to him for about 20 minutes. He said he thought his car was cool, and it was cool that the /6 ran so good and got such good gas mileage. He said he was going to keep in just like it was forever. If he ever got around to restoring it, it would go back to pure stock. He said it was cool with the /6 in it.

He had good taste. So many don't. lol

i pinched the fuel line (van) of my slant, hauling too much weight, junking boilers scrap. We coasted into a gas station, bought an outlet of large sodas (hot day). Guzzled the sodas. Then I pulled the air filter. My brother hand poured fuel into the carb and it got us 17 miles to home, missing most of our eyebrows, so the next day we could do new fuel line and springs in the rear. That’s a bullet proof power setup, however it was a gutless dog already at 95,000 miles. That’s why I’ll go. With the 5.9L magnum (apparently also bulletproof).
