Which torqueflite

Hi Guys,
I have just bought a 318 plus tf - owner cannot id the tranny and it is ~1600km from me - so while I am waiting for delivery I would like to get more info
The Combo is apparently out of a 1970 Sport Satellite.
Which TF was shipped with the car originally? 904 or 727?
Any ideas?

Probably a 904 with 318 engine, though given your location and the tendency for export vehicles to have heavier-duty components, it could be a 727. Why's it matter?

Not a problem just wondering -
the engine numbers is also not making sense Om318r31060808
O - 1978 could be a D?
M - Mount Road
318 - 318
R - Regular fuel
3106 - day of production <--------- falls in 1970
0808 - number 808 for the day

The overall length of the 727 is about 34" and the 904 is about 30".

If you take a picture of the tranny's fluid pan, someone can tell you which one you have for sure
