What is a good single spring that would handle about .515" of lift? Lunati recommends a double spring for my new cam, but i'd like to stick with a single spring so I don't have to have my heads machined.

901-16 should work, just shim them up a bit for a little more seat pressure.

I use a similar spring on a .528 mechanical.

I'm looking also. So many to choose my head is spinning. Is the Jegs spring good enough for a 509 cam? Will they fit without any head work?

The hughes have almost identical specs as the lunati dual springs. The comp 901s are a little soft but with shimming they might work just fine.

Ok, 412 Stroker or Crackedback, what size shims do you think I would need? Stroker, are you using shims with your set up, and if so do you have a part number? Thanks!

I dont think I have any shims in mine, I had a machine shop do them and they didnt charge me for any shims, and they charge for everything.

The 901s will work great. Inexpensive and effective.
