I am trying to decide which tires to buy, I am going back and forth with the two sizes 215/70/R14 or 205/70/R14. I am running 5.5 stock steelies. What do you think looks better? Which size would you choose? why? I will be ordering white walls. Thanks!

heres 215-70-14s front and 225-70-14s rear

I've had both,and I prefer the 215/70-14.
I have them on a 65 and 70 Dart.

Are you sure you have 5.5" rims ?

good point stock rims are 4.5" and a 205/70-14 is pushing the limits,
185/75-14 or 195/75-14 is a better fit on those rims

215 is the max "recommended" size for a 5.5" rim! Can you go bigger?? Of course but not recommended. I personally prefer the widest tire tecommended so i would go with the 215, they are only 10mm different in width....not much really!! Hope this helps, geof

215/70R14 on the front & 245/60R14 on the rear. The 215 fills the wheel well more. & the 215 on a 5.5" wheel

I am too old for this stuff. I am running 175/80-13 tires (Cause SEARS said they are the same as 700-14 which came on the car ) and with the speedometer at 65, I am only really going 55. I am willing to try to find 14" rims but what size tires will make the speedometer correct.

225x70x14 Fit 5.5 Ralley wheels perfect. This is the size I've ran on my 69 Dart for years.
