whininng problem

hey guys, my friend has a duster just like mine with a 360 727 and he is having a problem with his transmission. He says that its making a whining sound at around 30mph and just whines. At one point his fluid was low, so he added some and he said it stopped and then started again and the same thing happened when he changed his filter yesterday, nothing for a bit then it came back. Any clue what that could be?

I experienced the same thing in my valiant. What the problem was for me was in the differential. I thought it was in the trans as well but I took a friend for a ride and he said it was the rear. Just pop the back up on jacks and stick a 1/2" socket wrench in the bolt that is on the differential and stick your finger in there to check the fluid level. Even if its not that, its a good thing to check. Hope that's the problem, Good luck!:thumbrig:
