Flashback to my old Dart setting off car alarms every afternoon after class. Then the one day it didnt, damned ballast resistor!
Never had a resister let me down. Always carried a spare of course. The Duster I had I owned for 16 yrs and the terminals on the resister had bubbled but still worked.

I carried a spare after that. Chrysler should have included one or two next to the spare tire in every car.
Had my newly souped up 70 340 4 speed Duster with Hedman headers and thrush mufflers with a 4.30 gears. I got out early from school due to DCT program. I would light um up everyday. And the next day my teacher would threaten to keep me till the end of school. I really think he liked it cause he never made good on his threat.

On the darts Chrysler mounted the resister on the fire wall where in certain circumstances it could be exposed to water. There is a reason the base of it is ceramic
