I have read on a few threads that the manual choke AVS is better than the electric choke version of the same Carter carb. I would have thought both would offer equal performance and tuning ability. Anyone know why this is the case or is it simply a myth?

Do you mean the aftermarket carbs ? Like the edelbrocks ? Usually the electric choke versions are tuned a little leaner for emissions. Nothing a jet/rod swap wont change.

Yes I was referring to the Eddy Thunder AVS.
