Wild finish for game(s) 162 MLB Playoffs

Now the off-season & the draft.....& the eternal hope the Pirates find some bats,.........not the 'turns into a Vampire' kind,......the '.275avg., 55+HR's,' kind......

Gawd, watching Suwinski, Davis, Cruz, & even Reynolds for half of the season was excruciating...........

Hoofmans performance all year was a joke. Literally a coin toss whether he was giving up a hr. I think it was like 16 hrs in regular season. It seemed every other roster move/change was successful. In reg season most played beyond expectations. Springer, Barger, Bo, Clements, then to entrust all the entire success in Hoofman??
He's good until he ain't and that was the 9th inning game 7.
Let's not forget - two other pitchers gave up huge homeruns late in game 7. Plus, their offense had PLENTY of opportunities to put runs on the board. Shoot if Kiner-Falefa takes the proper lead at third in the ninth and/or runs through home plate like he should've instead of sliding, he'd have ended it in walk-off fashion.

Oh yeah, I forgot that's where the Bucs sent IKF,..

Yes Yesavage gave one up, BUT we still had the lead. And Yes Bieber gave up the winning one. BOTH of those are inconsequential if the jailhouse goof closer didn't give it up in the BOTTOM OF THE 9TH. Yes in 2 straight games some of their bats fell asleep, but if pitchers did their job.....

Sometimes the better team loses when it matters most, the Jay's had their foot on the Dodgers throat the whole series. imo

I’m a ML Scout for Cleveland Indians/Guardians. Been in Pro Ball for over 40 yrs as a Player, Coach and Scout. Scouting for over 30yrs. This was probably the best Post Season I can remember… and very proud of how we came back from 15 games back to win the Division. But the Dodgers proved that $$$ does make a difference. Top ML team salary (see link) at $350M. Luck and injury has ALOT to do with it… but until they have a structured salary cap/floor- small market teams are gonna have to be “lucky” to “get to the dance… let alone take the pretty girl home”. CBA coming up… Let’s hope they can work thru it! . https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/_/year/2025

Thanks Todd, cant state how much of an impact he was for the Jays!
You're welcome.
I heard about this, and told myself I would go. Annnd then I forgot about it.
I hope he continues to play at a high level and gets a big payday with the Jays in a long term deal. That's good for the game.
Since Brian Gionta and Ryan Callahan are just memories now, we could use a new hometown sports hero.
