i have 225/ 70/15s on the front now and these were just a trial fit and they rub when turning the wheel . they rub the lower fornt bottom fender . ive never driven the car yet since bb conversion, still getting it ready for the road. so im thinking i will go with 205/60/15 but before i buy them i was wondering if anyone else has this size on their 74 darts.

well i took a chance and went up to 215/65/15 on a 4" backspace wheel and they fit fine . look pretty good too. the tire store guy showed me the 215/65 next to a 215/70 and there was a big difference in height between the two.
i turned the steering wheel lock to lock and i have about 3/8" to spare when i move past the tight spots.

Turning with suspension movement may close that 3/8" gap. 3/8" is nothing.

We have had at least 3 threads this month where members front fenders were folded by 215-65-15s. Myself and others recommend a 215-60-15.

Good luck.

Here is a picture of my 72 duster with 205/60/15 front tires.

i have 205/70/14 on all around my car (72 scamp), they run fine with a good 2 inches of space when fully turned, i dont have a bb yet but it is planned. with the 15 inchers you should have about an inch and a quarter of play i think. the dimensions between the two years are almost identical. if you get them and the dont fit with the bb let me know as thats what i plan on running up front on mine wit it in there.

All depends on the back spacing of the wheel. A 15X7 with 4-1/4" BS will run a 215/60-15 with no problem but if the BS is only 4" then you have problems.... Ask me how I know. If you go 15X8 the max BS you can go is 4-1/2" and a 215/50-15 works fine. A little smaller diameter (23.9 vs 25") but its a good 1-1/2 to 2" wider.
