Will 318 poly crank fit LA Block OK?

I have a forged 318 poly (1965) Crank and just curious if it will fit 340 LA block without mods to anything.

It will work but keep in mind that you will have to use a torque converter/flexplate (if auto) or flywheel with the small hub, pre 68 style.

The crank fits. However, it is balanced for light duty rods.

Good mentions. Though it'll drop in, the flange could be 6 or 8 bolt and the piolt hole/register/hub could be different. On a rebuild, the type of rods will be part of the balance equation. IMO, I'd go with new ones, there cheap these days.

I think the A 318 had heavy rods.......... the light rods didn't come out until the 273/LA318...

I could be wrong.
