Will 7 1/4" axles fit 8 3/4" rear?

I'm going to be sending my old 7 1/4" rear to the scrap heap, it's fried. I think from the different size tires the PO had on there.

Should I save my 7 1/4" axles? Is there anything besides brake parts, studs etc. that I should keep off my old 7 1/4" rear?

JUNK!!! They will not fit the larger rear.
