This is the current setup on my '74 Duster:

195/70/14 up front
215/70/14 in the back
All on rallye wheels.

In the next couple months i'll be replacing the tires with BF Goodrich on the same wheels. 215's will be in the back again but I am undecided on the front. Will 215's rub or create any clearence issues when turning? I do like to keep the front lowered a bit. If these won't work then i'll go with the 205/70/14. Any opinions?

All info is appreciated.

I've got 215/65-15's up front and 275/75-15's in the rear on my '73 Duster. Only time I get a rub is when turning right into a driveway, say at a gas station. Then the left front will rub the top of the fender, it's a light rub, but I think I'm going to go with 205/65-15's when these wear out.
All tires are BFGoodrich Radial T/A's

Thanks for the info.
Sounds like 215/14's should work fine on my Duster.

I had rubbing issues on my 70 Duster 340 with 215/70-14's on the front. I switched out to 205/70-14's and have plenty of clearance. I was worried that the left front tire would snag my fender and cause some serious damage. I think that I am running 225/60-14's in the rear to give it a better stance and traction. I am running BFG Radial T/As. They are now discontinued, but Coker Tire is still making them.

My 2 cents.

A lot of it also has to do with how high or low your car sits.
Being that you have rallye wheels takes the headache of wheel width & backspacing out of it.

I used to have 215/65R-14s mounted on factory rallye wheels on the front of my Duster until I lowered it down a bit.
At that point I already had another set of wheels/tires ready to go on so I changed out all 4 wheels/tires. I then ran a 185/60R-15 which was a bit wide for my 4.5" front wheel. Now I have a 165/80R-15 and it really needs to be lowered again. Whoa that's a lot of sidewall to get used to after having a small 60 series.
