Hi, does anybody on here know how thick the washers are that go between the main bearing bolts and the saddles? thanks mark

Not an answer to your question, but the washers only get used on 273/318. 340/360 have a taller cap height at the bolt surface, the washers allow you to use the same bolts on any of the engines.
I don't have any handy, but if I had to guess it would be about an 1/8" thick hardened washer.

If you go to your local hardware store- not Home Depot. And buy SAE grade 8 washers. My hardware store has them extra thick. So you dont need to stack them. SAE washers do not have a wide shoulder like USS style that everyone seems to carry. The extra thick are like double the normal thickness.

They are .125 thick hardened washers and are used 2 per main bolt and should not deform at 85 ft lb of torque. They are only used on 273 and 318 engines. See post # 2.
