I am taking apart the interior of my '74 Scamp for a repaint and the felt and metal strip that lines the top outside of the window channel is held on with screws that I can see, but can't get to due to the window being in the way. Are there any tricks to getting it off without removing the entire window and its associated mechanism????

Anybody have a clue on how to do this? From what I have read here on FABO taking out the window is a major pain and putting it back in is worse. There must??? Be a way to do this.

post up a picture of the location your are talking about, it comes out -but each body style has unique characteristics. Lawrence

Her are pictures of what I need to do..the piece I want to replace is the trim piece with the chrome strip down the middle of the picture. It has felt on the other side. The problem is that even with the window all the way down, the screws that hold it in place are not accessible. how do I get those screws out???

I'd use my 1/4" ratchet with a socket to phillips head adapter.

Drop the regulator mechanism and it will clear the screws.
