I’m in the midst of restoring my 1967 Barracuda fastback. It was my first car (bought used). The desperately shrunk plastic “chrome” around the windshield and rear window was long ago removed and discarded (the car's only terrible design). I know that 1968 chrome can be used as replacements once new gaskets are installed. I have the chrome. But this car is like that pretty girlfriend who causes nothing but problems so I’m afraid to have the rear window removed for fear it might break. Does anyone have any suggestions about adding some sort of trim to the original gaskets (or should I just leave them as is)? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

A quality shop should be able to pop it out no problem but you also need to get the correct clips and wax tipped screws. IF your going to go through all of that I would replace the gaskets with 68-9 style too.
